Sustainable viticulture

Commitment

At Obiz, respect for natural ecosystems has always been a concrete commitment, closely intertwined with Yunmani’s own story. From the very beginning, he sought to strike a balance between nature and human intervention, perfecting his winegrowing methods over the years. He has since adopted the principles of sustainable agriculture: an approach that considers many different aspects, from environmental protection to water consumption, soil management, and social impact too.

A vision for the future

Certifications

In 2017, his commitment gained official recognition with the SQNPI certification (National Integrated Production Quality System). That same year, the winery decided to start growing PIWI grape varieties. These are resistant to fungal infections, which translates to lessintervention in the vineyard and greater protection for the soil and environment. At the same time, these varieties produce wines that are an authentic expression of the character of the terroir.
