Obiz

A tractor and a dream. That’s how the Obiz story began – from a simple idea. It stems from the experience of Yunmani and the generations of people who grew up in these fields, where the seasons still mark the cycles of the land and its inhabitants. It was a life choice, a journey guided by the understanding that this terroir has a story to tell. The grapes grown here are Refosco from the Romans, Malvasia from the Venetians, and Traminer from the Habsburgs. The sweep of history intermingles with the everyday stories of those who have lived, experienced and worked this land. Like Yunmani and his grandparents, who taught him to respect and nurture the environment. The past lives on in the present, and history comes full circle.

Obiz is located near Aquileia, in a special place where Friuli meets the sea and the Prealps give way to the lagoon. A fertile land rich in clay, sand and rocks. A climate on the crossroads between the Alps and the Adriatic sea. Cool winds roll down from the Slovenian hills on the horizon and flow into the breezes from the nearby coast. Grapes have been grown in the area for more than two thousand years. A legacy that lives on, in every glass.
